So Spring is finally here (hurrah!) and arriving with the warmer weather come new trinkets and treats here at the Hidden Jewel.
We welcome through our doors new apparel from Miilla, one of our favourite California clothing lines, jewelry from Europe thanks to Escape From Paris, Canadian creations in glass, resin, pewter and gold from Anne Marie Chagnon, closer to home we have new pieces from Worcester's Tied To You, and welcome to our family Massachusetts makers Creative Curves, Unique Treasures, and McHugh Creations. We also have new designs of oversized nightshirt from Emerson Street, a fabulous gift idea for Easter baskets or Mother's Day.
You've probably heard me talking about Escape From Paris before now, either here on the blog or over on Facebook. This collective features artisans from France, Spain and Italy. The different styles of jewelry from different artists are all tied together by a sense of easy elegance, and a palette tending to favor coppers and grays over golds and silvers. we have lots of fun new pieces for Spring; lots of stackable layering bracelets and rings, and long light-weight necklaces for a touch of drama. the rings pictured are one of our favorites; they appear to be one-size, but soak them in hot water and they become malleable, and will mold to fit any finger size. Pretty ingenious, don't you think?

McHugh Creations are a new addition to the store. They come to us from Putnam CT and Cape Cod MA. The brain-child of two sisters-in-law, McHugh Creations brings a delightful hodgepodge of tastes and textures together to create a little something for everyone. Their pieces have a distinct bohemian flavor, perfect for a little beachy glamour. They have lots of memory wire wrap bracelets, the perfect way to throw a little sparkle into the mix, and with no fasteners or clasps to worry about these are perfect for the girl on the go!

Tiffany Gentile, the creative force behind Unique Treasures, brings us a flair for the use of color. Perfect for the warmer months, the creations of Unique Treasures play with color and texture to create wearable beaded pieces that manage to be fun and youthful without straying into childish. Many of Tiffany's creations have a matching necklace, bracelet or earring available too, so you can buy just one piece or the whole ensemble should the mood strike you.

Hailing from West Boylston, Creative Curves comes from the mind of jewelry designer, glass bead maker and stay-at-home-mom Michelle Sinofsky-Eshbaugh. Her pieces combine wire-work, natural stones such as druzy or pearl, and her very own hand made lampwork glass beads. Michelle has been creating jewelry forever, but took the plunge into working with glass in 2003 with an introductory course in glass bead making at Worcester Center for Crafts.

And now to introduce a new arrival in store. The Anne Marie Chagnon Luv collection comes to us from Montreal, Canada. Anne-Marie's pieces bring together pewter, glass, resin, and gold to create "eye catching manifestations from a mysterious world of beauty from beyond". Anne-Marie trained at the Fine Arts Faculty of the University of Quebec in Montreal. This collection has a unique and distinctive flavor, a genuine tribute to personal expression.

Tied to You by Lella is another stalwart of The Hidden Jewel, having been with us from the start. Handmade right here in Worcester, Lella takes silk scarves and men's neck ties and creates unique, striking pieces of wearable art. She also takes commissions to make a truly unique heirloom for you, breathing new life into scarves or ties which may otherwise have sat neglected in a dresser drawer. A new selection arrived in store for Spring; Lella often brings us new designs so be sure to check back frequently to see what's new

And lastly, the latest additions to our range of apparel. Relative newcomers to the marketplace, California company Miilla was born in 2010. During the Fall we had a great selection of lightweight jackets and vests that proved popular (we still have a few pieces, come on in and take a look), and these are the latest offering. These 100% linen knit sweaters are the perfect layering choice as the days get warmer.
